A full-body experience that lets you create life-sized three-dimensional calligraphy in a single stroke, through a new way of thinking about writing. On Saturday, August 1, 2026, an AIR SHODOU installation will be set up at the 1F entrance of KIRO Hiroshima. No brush, ink, or paper required. Using your whole body, you draw characters in space, while motion analysis records and generates your movement as a sculptural piece of calligraphy.
新しい理屈で全身サイズの立体書道を一筆で書き上げる体験。2026年8月1日(土)、KIRO広島の1Fエントランスで、エア書道を体験するスペースを設置します。筆も墨も紙も使わず、全身の動きで空間に文字を描く三次元書道インターフェイス。姿勢解析によって、あなたの動きがそのまま立体的な書として記録・生成されます。

Every August, many international visitors come to Hiroshima to visit the Peace Memorial Park. Many guests staying at KIRO Hiroshima are also travelers from overseas, and many may be planning to visit places connected to the city's recovery 81 years ago. The AIR SHODOU installation is an experience that lets you use your own body to leave behind a large three-dimensional piece of calligraphy. By leaving a letter, a gesture, and a memory in Hiroshima, the single character drawn on your journey may become a small opportunity to think about peace and the future of the city.
8月の広島には、平和記念公園に海外から旅行者が多く訪れます。KIRO広島に宿泊されるお客様も、その大半が海外からの旅行者。81年前の復興にまつわる地へ足を運ぶ予定の方も多いのではないでしょうか。 エア書道インスタレーションは、自身を使い大きな立体カリグラフィーを残す体験です。文字と所作と思い出を広島に残してもらえることで、旅先で描く一文字が、平和と広島の未来を考えるきっかけになるはずです。

AIR SHODOU is a three-dimensional calligraphy interface created to offer a new kind of experience: drawing characters in the air through the movement of the body. The body's movement becomes the brush, and the surrounding space becomes the paper.
エア書道（AIR SHODOU）は、身体の所作から「空間に文字を描く」という新しい体験を生み出すために開発された、三次元書道インターフェイスです。身体動作そのものが筆となり、空間が紙となります。

Peace is made by bringing together the individual pieces that each of us carries. Guided by this idea, Piece Week 26 is a special six-day week held throughout Hiroshima from August 1 to 6. Under the themes of knowing, walking, and talking, a wide range of events, including city walks, gatherings, and spaces for dialogue, will take place across the city, collecting pieces for imagining Hiroshima's future.

「平和(Peace)」は、一人ひとりという「ピース(Piece)」が集まってできている。そんな想いのもと、8月1日から6日までの6日間、広島のまちを舞台に開催される特別なウィークです。街歩きや交流会、対話の場など、「知る・歩く・語る」をテーマにした多彩なイベントを市内各地で開催し、未来の広島を描くためのピースを集めていきます。

What do you imagine yourself doing in 2045? Piece Project gathers people's voices as pieces, looking ahead to August 6 in the future, 100 years after Hiroshima's recovery from the atomic bombing began. In Japanese, "piece" can suggest both peace and a fragment. As many people imagine a peaceful future, those fragments come together as one. Picture the future, then share your piece. During the event, pieces will be collected throughout the city, and on August 6, a single artwork born from everyone's thoughts will be unveiled at Mielparque.
2045年の今、あなたは何をしていると思いますか？復被爆復興が始まり100年となる8月6日の未来を思い、皆さんの声をピースとして集めるプロジェクト"Piece Project"。日本語では"平和"も"欠片"も"ピース"。多くの人が平和の未来を考え欠片が集まり一つになります。未来をイメージして、さぁ投稿してみましょう！会期中はまちのあちこちでピースを集め、8月6日、メルパルクにて、みんなの想いから生まれた一枚の絵をお披露目します。
