HIBA RINGs is a forest traceability platform built around a simple idea: making it possible to trace the life story of every single tree. Working with local forestry operators including those in Kitahiroshima, Hiroshima, we saw the project through end to end — designing the TREE-ID / FOREST-ID system for digitally managing felled-timber data, and shaping the story that carries through distribution, processing, and the finished product.
HIBA RINGs は、「木一本一本の生い立ちを追える仕組み」をテーマに開発した、森林のトレーサビリティプラットフォームです。広島県北広島町をはじめとする地域の林業者と連携し、伐採木の情報をデジタル管理する TREE-ID / FOREST-ID の設計から、流通・加工・商品の物語づくりまで一貫して取り組みました。
Timber's history has traditionally been fragmented across landowners, sawmills, and woodworking manufacturers. By making that history visible to everyone, we set out to create a new model of timber distribution in which anyone can clearly see which forest a piece of wood came from, who felled it, and how it was processed. It's a foundation for communicating regional transparency and the ongoing work of caring for our forests, for the future of forest resources.
従来、山主・製材所・木工メーカーの間で情報が分断されていた木材の来歴を、誰もが参照できる形にすることで、「どの森から、誰が伐り、どう加工されてきたか」が明確にわかる新しい木材流通のモデルを目指しました。森林資源の未来に向けて、産地の透明性と、森をケアする営みを社会に伝える基盤づくりです。

CENSA inc. is a design studio on the third floor of a building overlooking the Tenma River at the western edge of central Hiroshima. The studio includes TATOBI, a store where visitors can purchase blocks, mobiles, shogi sets, and other products from our Sukima.gift brand.
